During the meeting, Adiv raised the issue of the exclusion of Palestinian workers from the Israeli labor market since October 2023. He called on the Dutch Government and the EU to pressure the Israeli authorities to allow the workers to immediately return to their jobs in Israel.
It is worth noting that Mr. Van Schreven currently serves as the chairperson of the joint committee between Israel, the Palestinian Authority, and the European Union. His meeting with MAAN was one of a series of meetings held during his short visit to the country this week. Among others, the Dutch official met with senior members in the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah, Israeli Prime Minister’s Office, a senior representative of the COGAT and civil society figures in Israel, including the president of the Israeli Contractors Association.

Hundreds of Palestinian workers employed in hotels across Israel—including in Jerusalem, Herzliya, and the Dead Sea region—are expected to be dismissed in the coming month and replaced by migrant workers. In recent days, MAAN has received notices from workers who, throughout November, were summoned to pre-termination hearings. Some have already attended hearings and received official dismissal letters.
