[:en]As an organization that inscribes on its banner the principle of one justice for all and that advances partnership between workers without discrimination on grounds of nationality, religion, race, or gender, WAC-MAAN stands up against the planned deportation of 37,000 Eritrean and Sudanese refugees to Rwanda, a move that will endanger their lives.
Conscience demands that we support the call to cancel the deportation and enable the refugees to live a life of dignity in Israel until the situation in their countries improves and they are able to return. We are proud to join in the outcry of thousands of doctors, writers, educators, social workers, artists, and citizens against a policy that outrages conscience and violates international law.
We call on all labor unions and workers organizations in Israel to join us in taking a position against the government’s intent. Do not turn your backs on this struggle! Especially at a time when the government persists in the senseless “importation” of migrant workers, preferring them over the many jobless workers who are already here.
We also call on all our activists and members to mobilize against the deportation, in solidarity with our brothers and sisters from Sudan and Eritrea, who demand the basic right to a life with dignity.
