Netanyahu does not admit it, but it is a fact: the economy needs the Palestinian workers

Since the outbreak of the war, the government has closed the gates to Palestinian workers, but has not presented a plan to replace them with foreign workers ■ Meanwhile, those who pay the price are the farmers, restaurateurs, industrialists and contractors, who have lost a significant percentage of their manpower ■ “If 75% of the fruits remain on the trees, it means bankruptcy. We will not stand it”

MAAN and the October 7th War

In the shadow of war the struggle for workers’ rights continues

We enter the year 2024 in the shadow of a war that is changing the face of the Middle East. Hamas’s attack of October 7 has plunged the Israeli and Palestinian peoples deeper into what seems an endless conflict. The current phase has so far claimed the lives of 1300 Israelis and over 20,000 Palestinians. About 70% of homes in Gaza have been made unfit for habitation, and more than a million and a half Gazans are now crowded into the south of the Strip hungry for food. Over 160,000 Israelis have been displaced from their homes, and 136 are held hostage by Hamas under inhumane conditions.

As an organization committed to the rights of workers without distinction of religion, race, nationality, gender, or profession - democracy is our essence. We strongly oppose the authoritarian laws that the extreme government of Netanyahu, Lapid, Bennett, and Smotrich is attempting to impose.

Without democracy, there are no workers' rights, just as a workers' organization cannot exist under dictatorship.

only a victory of the democratic camp will enable a discussion on the Palestinian issue and lead to an alternative solution to occupation and apartheid while ensuring human rights and citizenship for all, Israelis and Palestinians alike. As long as the apartheid regime persists, the democratic camp will not succeed in defeating Israeli extremists. Therefore, we work to involve the Arab and Palestinian society in the protest.

We invite you:

To march with us in protests and to build an alternative, democratic, Jewish-Arab professional union in Israel. Join our quiet WhatsApp group today, "Marching with us in protest."

To join MAAN and unite workers in your workplace. Read here how to join the organization.
